本游戏是日本 FALCOM 公司知名的动作 RPG《伊苏（YS）》的第六代最新作；也是本系列作睽违数年之久后再次重新出发的作品，PC 版已于2004年 9 月由 FALCOM 推出，家用机版本则由 KONAMI 负责制作与发行。本游戏除了将推出 PS2 版，也会推出 PSP 版。
一生经历过无数冒险的红发勇士 亚特鲁（Adol），在与好友 多奇（Dogi）前往西方海域冒险的航海途中；被大漩涡卷至神秘孤岛迦南，被岛上的原住种族列达族 的少女欧尔哈（Olha）所救；自此踏入了这神秘的岛屿，探究包括嘉南大漩涡、贯穿系列作主轴的有翼人..等等众多的谜团。
游戏除继承系列作一贯的动作 RPG 类型之外，并首度将画面完全 3D 化，建构出更具空间感、效果更为华丽的画面；敌我双方角色的动作也都更为生动灵活。而亚特鲁所持有，具备风、火与雷三种不同属性剑魔法以及刺击、回旋斩、斩击不同剑技的艾玫拉司剑；以及跳斩、下刺、冲斩、冲跳斩等攻击方式，也让游玩方式更为丰富多变。PSP 版将有不逊于 PC 版与 PS2 版的高度影音表现；并加入 PC 一般版所没有收录的头目战竞时模式、第 2 轮回的超高难度恶梦模式；以及许多不论是曾玩过 PC 版或初接触的玩家乐在其中的新内容。
